EM Locum Night Shifts – Eastern Indiana | xLocums

Job Description:

Position Overview We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine physician for night shift locum tenens coverage in Eastern Indiana starting September 16, 2026. This position includes specific block dates plus ongoing monthly shifts.

Coverage Dates & Requirements

• Required Blocks:
  • Sept 16 (10:30 PM) – Sept 24 (7:30 AM)
  • Oct 11 (10:30 PM) – Oct 20 (7:30 AM)
  • Dec 10 (10:30 PM) – Dec 16 (7:30 AM)
• Ongoing Need: Minimum 12 shifts (108 hours) per month starting September
• Shift Details: 10:30 PM – 7:30 AM (9-hour shifts)
• Coverage: Double/triple covered until 2 AM, then single coverage. APP support available during parts of the shift.
• Volume: ~42,000 annual visits (~2 pts/hour at night)

Candidate Requirements

• Active IN license or IMLC eligibility
• ABEM/AOBEM Board Certified or Board Eligible
• BLS required; ACLS if requesting conscious sedation
• Flu & COVID vaccination (exemptions accepted)
• Proficient in critical procedures: central lines, chest tubes, temporary pacemaker, lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and code response
• Hours entered in Vemsta platform; order entry required
