Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Cardiovascular Surgeons for locum tenens assignments at a Level II trauma center. This role involves coverage of predominantly routine cases including CABs, valve repairs, and other cardiovascular procedures. Candidates must hold a Minnesota license or participate in IMLC. Emergency temps with clean records are welcome.

Schedule
- Regular Shifts: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour day)
- On Call: 1 in 3 weeks
- Includes day shift, overnight (5:00 PM – 7:00 AM), and weekend 24-hour call
- Orientation: 4 hours (non-billable)
Case Mix
- Predominantly routine CABs and valve procedures
- Standby procedures:
- TAVR: 200
- Clips: 100
- Lead extractions: 35
Other Procedures:
- Aortic aneurysms & dissections
- Atrial fibrillation surgery
- Cardiac valve repair and replacement
- Carotid endarterectomy
- Congenital heart surgery
- Coronary artery bypass surgery
- Minimally invasive & robotic heart surgery
- LVAD surgery
- Pacemaker implantation
- Thoracoscopic surgery
Exclusions:
- Oncology lung cases go to another facility
- No electrophysiology cases
Ideal Candidate: Proficient in cardiothoracic and vascular procedures; flexible with case mix.
Requirements
- State Licensure: Minnesota (or IMLC accepted)
- DEA / CSR / Other Certifications
Rates
- Bill Rate: $350-370/hour
- Call Bill Rate: Night call and 24-hour call rates available

- Level II trauma hospital with routine and specialty cardiovascular cases
- ASAP start possible; ideal for candidates seeking emergency or locum opportunities
