Job Description:

Position Overview We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Oncology physician for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in Eastern Indiana starting September 1, 2026. This is an excellent long-term locum assignment ideal for a provider looking for consistent volume and schedule predictability. The position requires availability for 3+ weeks per month (4 weeks preferred) and participation in the weekend call rotation.

Schedule & Coverage Details

  • Core Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (4 days/week, Mondays off) with a 1-hour unpaid lunch.
  • Travel Sites: Provider will cover multiple locations in the region:
    • Winchester coverage every Wednesday
    • Hagerstown coverage twice monthly (1st & 3rd Thursdays)
  • Call:
    • Night call on select weekdays (schedule TBD)
    • Weekend call rotation (primary and backup to APPs) – Telephone call only; APPs handle initial needs and contact physician only if in-person presence is required.
  • No telemedicine.

Requirements

  • Active Indiana medical license or IMLC (compact) eligibility
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (must obtain certification within 5 years of residency completion)
  • BLS required; ACLS required if requesting conscious sedation privileges
  • Flu and COVID vaccinations required (medical or religious exemption accepted)
  • Case logs required
  • Must be comfortable entering hours in the Vemsta platform and completing order entry
